Kim Heslip Featured in Inspiring New Children’s Book “Verity the Visionary”
Nest & Flourish founder Kim Heslip has been featured in a powerful new children’s book that celebrates creativity, purpose, and the entrepreneurial spirit of young people. Verity the Visionary: A Little Girl’s Story of Her Entrepreneurial Journey shares the remarkable true story of an 8‑year‑old Black girl who launched her first business at just two years old, with the support of her mother and a clear sense of purpose.
The book highlights themes close to Kim’s heart: nurturing children’s creativity, embracing diversity, and encouraging purposeful, values‑driven action from an early age.
Written as an uplifting picture book, Verity the Visionary follows Verity’s journey from crafting her first products to running pop‑up shops with her brother, serving customers around the world, and being recognised on global platforms. It offers an authentic look at how curiosity, encouragement, and opportunity can shape a child’s confidence and leadership.
The book also features a heartfelt foreword by the Lord Mayor of Leeds (2024–2025), underscoring its significance as a resource for purposeful parents, educators, and anyone committed to empowering the next generation of innovators and changemakers.
Kim shared her excitement about being included in the project, noting how aligned it is with her own mission to help families create homes that support wellbeing, creativity, and connection. “Verity’s story is a beautiful reminder that children flourish when we give them space, support, and belief,” she said. “It’s an honour to be part of something that will inspire so many young dreamers.”
Verity the Visionary is now available and already sparking meaningful conversations about confidence, identity, and the power of following your purpose, no matter your age.
